Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions towards female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
